Kayla
Veterinary Receptionist
Originally hailing from Columbus, Ohio, Kayla made her way to Lansing in 2020 after living in Louisville, KY—trading bourbon for Big Ten country to be closer to the family she loves. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Social Work, and while her professional journey began in the world of helping people, her lifelong passion for animals has always been front and center.
Kayla lives with her wonderful husband, Jake, and their two feline queens, Ruby and Luna, who absolutely rule the household and her heart. When she’s not working or showering her cats with affection, you can find her curled up with a good book, whipping up something sweet in the kitchen, tending to her garden, or enjoying cozy time with loved ones.
Her kind spirit, deep empathy, and soft spot for all things furry make her a perfect fit for the animal world she now proudly calls home.

Rachael
Veterinary Receptionist
Though she’s new to the world of veterinary medicine, Rachael’s heart has always had room (and then some!) for animals of all shapes and sizes. From cuddly cats to majestic sharks, she loves them all—well, all except spiders… those can stay outside, thank you very much!
Rachael’s Lansing story began in 2021, when she moved into a cozy little neighborhood. Not long after settling in, her friendly neighbor came by to say hello… and a beautiful love story began. Now married, they share a lively home filled with love, laughter, and a whole lot of paws and tails. Their blended family includes a 13-year-old son; four fabulous felines—October, Akey, and the fraternal twins Remmy Grace and Good Boy Felix (pictured, of course); two dogs—Axel the gentle giant pittie and Bella the sassy Chihuahua; and one slithery sweetheart, a ball python named Sophie.
When Rachael’s not doting on her furry (and scaly) family members, you’ll find her treasure-hunting at thrift stores, getting lost in a good book, or enjoying a classic Menards date with her wife. She also proudly claims the title of Cool Aunt—with more nieces than she has fingers to count on, and a heart big enough to spoil them all.
